Tecnológico de Monterrey reaches the 199th place in QS World University Rankings’ new edition, and it is positioned as the best private university in Mexico.

In its 2017-2018 edition, QS World University Rankings places Tecnológico de Monterrey in the 199th place worldwide and as the best private university in Mexico.

In the last seven years, the institution has climbed 200 positions, and is now among the 1.0% best universities in the world. In addition, the institution has the Five Stars of QS, which are awarded to excellence in different fields.

Salvador Alva, president of Tecnológico de Monterrey, highlighted the formation of leaders committed to the transformation of the country.

“In Mexico, we need to migrate from a manufacturing-based economy to a knowledge-based society. At Tecnológico de Monterrey we assume this responsibility by committing to the formation of leaders capable of transforming their country,” he said.

QS evaluated 75 million citations in more than 12 million academic articles and analyzed 115,000 employer and academic surveys.

The ranking is led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University, Harvard University, California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and University of Cambridge.
