Teaching is inherently a stressful occupation, and by many accounts, it's getting more so. For the past nine years an evidence-based program called Cultivating Awareness and Resilience for Educators (CARE for Teachers) is teaching mindfulness to educators. CARE for Teachers it's the first mindfulness program to be studied with funding from the U.S. Department of Education. Research suggests, mindfulness can reduce their stress and improve their teaching.

But coding bootcamps can be quite costly. In order to combat that, the U.S. Department of Education has launched a new experimental initiative in partnership with colleges and universities to enable students to pay for certain coding bootcamps using federal financial aid.

Calico, a company focused on aging research and therapeutics, announced that Daphne Koller, co-founder of Coursera, is joining the company as Chief Computing Officer. Dr. Koller will lead the company’s computational biology efforts. Dr. Koller founded Coursera with Andrew Ng back in 2012 after working together on artificial intelligence research at Stanford. Though both have now officially moved on to new challenges, Koller and Ng remain co-chair’s of the Coursera Board of Directors.
