The company Blackboard is launching its first hackathon, called Hackboard, with the goal of showing the versatility and power of the platform.
The contest has two categories: Open Division and Student Division, the winner of the former will receive 2,000 dollars and a trophy; for the latter category, the prize is a trip to New Orleans and a trophy.
Anyone in the US can participate following a three-step process: register, code and show.
Contestants must use both IMS Global's Learning Tools Interoperability and Blackboard Learn's REST APIs. They should also create a short video showing how their app works.
Judging will be based on five tenets: innovation, user experience, quality impact, technical difficulty, and presentation.
